I was hesitant to use a wood product other than typical pressure treated lumber. Before I started using Blue Star on the seacoast of NH, there wasn’t really any other comparable material available. We were all a little concerned about how it would perform near the ocean. Obviously it’s been a proven winner. My favorite projects I’ve done with Blue Star was an outdoor shower and pool shed build. We used Blue Star Meranti for a few reasons, first was the aesthetic. The homeowner had brass elements to add to the rich tones of the wood, which looked killer. Second was the ability for the material to withstand the elements once the proper oil was applied. Project popped!
